Sweet Iron Eggbutt Waterford
Over
Product description
The eggbut is a standard cheekpiece. The rings cannot move separately from each other, so the riders aid is conveyed directly and the bit lies stable in the horse’s mouth. In addition, this cheekpiec doesn’t pinch the corners of the horse’s mouth so bit rings are not necessary. A waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links. It is a flexible bit that forms towards the horse's mouth and creates an even pressure. It can move in all directions making it difficult for the horse to lean on the bit so that the rider retains proper control. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders. In soft hands this mouthpiece is friendly but with a strong hand the bit can be sharp. The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit.
